Abused Wolves And Veterans Suffering With PTSD Help Each Other Heal

When you think of wolves, you normally think of tough, aggressive creatures. They roam the woods like they’re the kings and queens of the forest. You never really think about how these hearty creatures might sometimes need help, too. Cruel people mistreat them just the same as they, unfortunately, do to other animals.

These abused wolves need healing, both physical and emotional, if and when they are rescued. They’ve been through a lot…not unlike our veterans. There’s nothing more healing than companionship, and when two damaged souls come together, magic happens.

Veterans suffering from PTSD now have options other than traditional treatment and medication. It’s called wolf therapy. At Lockwood Animal Rescue Center, these veterans are getting back their nature.

Sometimes, all one person needs to be able to start the healing process is to see that healing is possible. The relationships that these wolves and their veterans form are truly lifesaving, and it’s so touching to see them come together like this.
