Tamarins Adorably Mesmerized by iPod Camera

Handle bar mustache monkeys squee! I want to give them little monkey monocles and top hats and teach them how to twirl their mustaches. Oh, how I want them to twirl their mustaches…

I was filming the Emperor Tamarins at the San Francisco Zoo with my iPod touch 4th gen, when all of a sudden, they were everywhere.

Snub-Nosed Monkey Baby Out in the Cold

This little guy can take over my planet anytime he want, I’m certain even Charlton Heston wouldn’t put up much of a fight!

Although someone needs to tell him blue eye shadow is so 1982.

Not yet two, a golden snub-nosed monkey perches during the subzero winter in a highland forest in China’s Zhouzhi National Nature Reserve. Maturity comes by age seven. Life span is unknown.

Little Girl is Still Best Buds With an Orangutan

Back in January we posted about this baby orangutan who had taken a liking to a little girl. Well half a year later and the two of them have grown a bit, but are still the best of friends.

Man Reunites with a Gorilla

Conservationist Damian Aspinall searched for a gorilla named Kwibi he bonded with five years ago during a program to re-introduce animals back into the wild. If only gorillas could use Facebook, this long-winded search would have been so much easier.

Dancing Monkeys & Lemurs

These funky monkeys look footloose and fancy free as they strut their stuff in the forest clearings they have made their dance floor.

The athletic footsteps – and unusual choreography – of three different groups of monkeys were captured by Anup Shah and his partner Fiona Rogers in this spectacular series of photographs.

The Verreaux’s Sifakas (Lemurs) - with their silky cream and brown fur and long tail – were hopping across a forest opening in Berenty Private Reserve, Madagascar.

They threw their arms into the air and extended their tails to help them balance as they bounced off in search of fresh fruit.
